Web Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing department within our agency. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate solid front-end skills but doesn’t shy away from working across the entire stack.

Experience is important, but we’re just as interested in your knowledge, ability and enthusiasm. Our’s is a fast-paced world where change is a constant and deadlines are often tight, you’ll need a passion for what you do and the ability to quickly shift focus.

A few things you might want to know about how we work:

• Primarily we build WordPress sites, using ACF for flexible layouts
• We’re big on Tailwind for CSS
• We choose the tools that best suit our clients needs. This means we’ll reach for Laravel, React or NextJS from time to time.
• We use GitHub for hosting repositories and GitHub Actions for CI/CD

What you’ll be doing:

• Developing and maintaining websites primarily in WordPress
• Developing custom features and functionality for sites, including third party API integrations
• Building dynamic and interactive frontends
• You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle from kickoff to launch, collaborating with internal teams and clients to deliver exceptional online experiences through your expertise, while fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and learning.
• Aiding the technical lead in quoting and scoping incoming technical projects
• Learning new skills as part of your ongoing development, and for the benefit of the agency’s clients
• Contributing to business growth by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement for both us and our clients.

Our ideal candidate will be:

• Able to demonstrate a solid track record of website delivery – from supplied designs, through build, to testing and deployment.
• Savvy with HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, MySQL and WordPress
• Flexible and able to change direction when required, addressing technical support issues and working on a range of projects at a time.
• Ambitious, eager to learn new skills and develop your own career – with support from us.
• Curious, always on the lookout for better ways of doing things, with an eye on what’s ahead in the fast-paced world of digital, and what that may mean for us and our clients.
• A problem solver – Taking a set of a requirements from a brief and transforming that into a fit for purpose solution.

Desirable attributes:

• Knowledge of OOP, MVC and SOLID principles
